Privacy Policy

Chem Vision AI is published by Lookinglass Technologies inc. The app helps workers identify and manage hazardous materials (WHMIS/GHS): AI analysis of chemical labels and safety data sheets (SDS), storage recommendations, and training content. This policy explains what data we process, why, and with whom it is shared.

1. Data we collect

• Account: your email address and a password (authentication is handled by our provider, Clerk).
• Content you submit: the label photos and SDS documents you send for analysis.
• Inventory: the products you save are stored locally on your device; we keep no copy on our servers.
• Subscription: your subscription status (free trial or premium), managed by RevenueCat and the app stores.
• Report delivery: when you choose to email a PDF report, the recipient email address you enter.

2. How we use your data

• Provide the analysis and features you request.
• Manage your account and subscription.
• Send the reports you request.
• Ensure security and prevent abuse.
• Comply with our legal obligations.

3. AI processing

The photos and documents you submit are sent to Google’s Gemini model (via the Replit AI Integrations proxy) to generate the analysis. Do not submit personal or confidential information beyond what is needed to analyze the product. Your permission is requested in the app before anything is sent. This data is used solely to produce the analysis: Google processes it with protections at least equivalent to this policy, it is not used to train AI models, and it is not kept on our servers after the analysis.

4. Sharing with third parties

We do not sell your data. We use the following providers solely to operate the app:

• Clerk — authentication and account management.
• Google (Gemini, via Replit) — AI analysis of photos and documents.
• RevenueCat — subscription management.
• Postmark — email delivery of reports.
• Apple — app distribution and payments.

5. Storage and retention

Your inventory is stored locally on your device and is removed if you delete the app or clear its data. Account data is kept while your account is active. Photos and documents are processed transiently to produce the analysis; we do not use them to train models.

7. Children

Chem Vision AI is a professional tool that is not directed to children and is not intended for use by anyone under 13.

8. Security

We use reasonable measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

9. International transfers

Our providers may process your data in countries other than your own, with appropriate safeguards.
